Tsunami Hell
Catastrophic news. With what is shaping up to be one of the worst natural disasters of all time, I feel profound sadness for the people who have been affected. Nobody deserved this. And we thought terrorism was bad... Nature can be far worse...
Updated AGAIN! HMA GM Screen
I have made some changes to the Impact breakpoints on the Injury Table of the HMA GM Screen. I've aimed to tone down the effects of blunt injuries relative to cuts and stabs at equivalent Impact levels. Put another way, you can hurt someone by cutting or stabbing them with less force than you'd need if you were bludgeoning them. The logic seems sound, but the breakpoints might need tweaking.
Anyway, this is something that I am trialing - if you're interested in testing it out in your game sessions, please do so and let me know how you went...
I've also made a few small changes on the Missile Data Table to match the figures on my ever-growing HMA Weapon Database, which I will upload soon in Excel format.
Updated! HMA GM Screen
The legendary HMA GM Screen has been updated and is available here.
So what are the changes? There are just a couple, actually. One is the removal of the rule next to the Injury Table whereby any Grievous wound automatically causes Fumble and Stumble Rolls to fail. This was actually an oversight on my part, as I had already developed and included a table for making Fumble/Stumble Rolls for any Injury Level. Well spotted, Timo! :-)
The second change is to the Shock Roll table. It is now possible to sustain a 0 IL wound, if the character sustains a M1 injury and then rolls CS on his/her Shock Roll. Although it is not painful, the wound still exists for the purpose of checking for infections (applies only to cuts and stabs).
HÂRN LINK - More Dead Links (Bring Out Yer Dead)
Oh dear... Gothmog has spotted some more dead links, which have now had to be purged from HÂRN LINK. The following fansites are no more::

RPG For 3-Year Olds
I ran my first diceless RPG "session" with my 3-year old son (Cade) the other night. It was completely spur-of-the-moment and unplanned. Anyway, here's how it went:
GM: Once upon a time, there was a....
Cade: Wolf.
GM: ...wolf, and he was walking in a...
Cade: Forest.
GM: And the wolf's name was...
Cade: Cade.
GM: Why was the wolf named Cade walking in the forest?
Cade: He was looking for some logs.
GM: Well, Cade was walking in the forest looking for some logs and along came a...
Cade: Fox.
GM: ...fox. He stopped and said to the wolf, "Hello!"
Cade: Hello!
GM: The fox then said: "You look lost, Cade. What are you looking for?"
Cade: I'm looking for some logs for a fire.
GM: The fox smiled and said: "I saw some logs in a pile behind that hill. There are two ways you can get to it, Cade. One is along a long, long road over the hill, which is a really nice walk but will take you a long time to get there. The other is a very quick way but you have to go through a dark, scary tunnel through the hill. Good luck!" And with that, the fox ran away. The wolf then saw a road that split in two - one went way way up and over the hill and the other went down to the bottom of the hill and into a dark and scary tunnel. Which...
Cade: The tunnel!
GM: Which way did the wolf go? The long, long way over the hill, or the short way through the dark and scary tunnel?
Cade: The tunnel!
GM: The wolf went into the tunnel. It was very dark and very scary. Did the wolf stop and go back? Was he afraid?
Cade: No, he wasn't afraid.
GM: The wolf continued into the tunnel and came into a big, scary looking cave. Inside this cave was a huge, hairy HOBGOBLIN with a big, sharp axe! He growled horribly at the wolf and ran towards him with his axe! What did the wolf do next?
Cade: He fought the hobgoblin!
GM: The wolf fought the hobgoblin and ate him up!
Cade: Yay!
GM: At the other end of the cave, the wolf saw another tunnel. Did he go through it?
Cade: Yes.
GM: The wolf came out of the tunnel and back into the forest. And next to the opening was a pile of logs, just like the fox had said. The wolf took the logs and went back home and he was very happy. The End.
Heh, so much for Fight-or-Flight! :-)
