HMA GM Screen - Update
It's been long overdue, but I have finally finished revising the HMA GM Screen; it is available on the HMA Rules page. It didn't take much to update, really - it's just that I've been especially busy with Real World things lately. Anyway, it features Armour Protective Values that are now consistent with the current HMA Armour Profiles.
Removed from the HMA Rules section today are a couple of outdated files, to prevent confusion. Both files were written pre-HM3 and have been superseded.
So, what am I working on at the moment? A new NPC pack for the HM3 Armour Profiles, and an Excel Character Sheet for HMA. Coming soon, I promise! :-)

HMA Armour Profiles - Update
I've posted an updated version of the HMA Armour Profiles in the HMA Rules page.
There's only one change, and it actually doesn't affect the Armour Profiles themselves. The change is in the Combat Sheet, and is in the way that the Encumbrance penalty is calculated.
Before, HMA Encumbrance was calculated in this cumbersome manner:
Encumbrance = (Load (lbs) x 4) / Condition ML, rounded off to nearest integer.
If you happen to prefer this method, then don't download the updated HMA Armour Profiles. The new method of calculation, which gives a 'steeper' climb (i.e. less penalty with lighter loads; greater penalty with heavier loads), is as follows:
Encumbrance = (Load (lbs) - STR) / END, rounded off to nearest integer (or to 0 if higher).
This method has a few advantages. First, you don't have to work out your Encumbrance each time Condition ML changes. Second, Strength has a direct effect on perceived Load, so at lighter loads your Encumbrance penalty will be zero. And third, Endurance is the main attribute that impacts the effect Encumbrance has on the character, making it an important attribute once again.
Example: Faranok has STR 16 and END 12. He is carrying a Load of 36lbs (some light armour and a shortsword). His Encumbrance is therefore ((36-16)/12=) 2. Had he been carrying only 20lbs of equipment, his Encumbrance would have been ((20-16)/12=) 0, which seems fair given his high Strength attribute.

CONVENTIONS
One of the most exciting upcoming conventions is MaceCon in High Point, North Carolina. Regular (and prolific) GM Richard Desautels is planning a Hârn Blitz with several Hârn events including both introductory sessions and games for more experienced roleplayers.
Richard has a first-rate collection of medieval weapons and armour which add to the feel of the game. Naturally Columbia Games is supporting this event. More Hârn GMs for game conventions are needed!
