JOUSTING CARDS

Bill Gant (www.warflail.com) has created a set of cards for HârnMaster jousting. The cards allow each jouster to select a jousting tactic and play it face-down. Selections are revealed to determine joust outcome.

Now this is stunning news. The entire HârnMaster Third Edition rules - all 160 pages of it plus character sheets and combat tables - being offered as a FREE download!!! You'd have to be crazy not to take advantage of this offer!

As Dicey Business states above, I have created a set of jousting tactics cards for use with HM3. This is a supplement to the jousting rules that I wrote (and which appear in HM3 - which you can currently download for nothing!). HÂRNMASTER III BESTIARY

HM3 includes a considerable revision of all creature stats from those listed in HârnMaster 1 and HMC. A notable example is the MOVE (Speed) of 4 legged creatures such as bears, which can now outrun humans on Kethira as well as as they do on Earth.

The MOVE rates in previous editions of HârnMaster did not reflect this. In HârnMaster III, MOVE values (the distance in 5-foot hexes that a creature can cover in one turn at normal speed) have been adjusted to provide greater realism.

Creature skills were also completely reworked and now are believably based on attributes. This allows the GM to vary attributes and easily recalculate skills that are affected.

We hope you enjoy the improved realism and playability of HârnMaster 3rd Edition!

Note that rather than release a single Bestiary book, we have opted to release individual articles on creatures. At present there are more than 60 pages of creatures available including: Ivashu, Dragons, Horses, Ghosts, Undead, Aquatics, Yelgri and Gargun.

Hârn - Where the adventure is real!

KANDAY REPORT

We're hard at work on the Kanday Kingdom module. It proved impossible to publish it exactly as it was so considerable new material has been added and a lot of reorganization and editing has occured. Kanday is nearing completion with all the improvements included. Release is only a few weeks away.

Among the improvements:

Historical maps for the Kingdom of Aleathia, 5 Year War, and Ezar's War. These maps are no longer based on the "modern" Hârn map but have been redone with the correct settlements and roads of the period.

Illustrations of all the major land holding nobles in Kanday.

Details about Kandian clothing, music, food.

Detailed description of the Ternu Heath and the unpopulated forest hundreds in Kanday.

And more...

New Download at BGHMHR

The latest file for your downloading pleasure is an updated version of my HM3 Armour Profiles. Encouraged by the very positive feedback that I received from my HMA Armour Profiles, I converted the Profiles for use with HM3.

The key improvements are better integration between the worksheets, extended size and AQ tables, and of course those fine dynamic illustrations from the HMA Armour Profiles!

If you use Microsoft Excel but haven't used any of my Armour Profiles, here's a brief history of what they are about:

The Armour Profiles are a GM aid to assist in keeping track of the armour profiles of HârnMaster characters. My first Armour Profile was a simple armour calculator for just one character, but I soon found a need to monitor multiple NPCs simultaneously, so I expanded the profiles to allow for up to 16 characters. The Armour Profiles then proceeded to grow from just calculating the armour stats of each character, to a fully-featured armour profile generator (with over 75 preset armour profiles) that integrates armour stats with key attributes and skills so they can be printed off on Combat Sheets for use in battle.

As any HârnMaster GM knows, working out the armour profiles of characters is very time-consuming. My Armour Profiles serve to cut down on this tedious process, to free up more time to be better spent actually gaming rather than bookkeeping.

Compliments of the Season

Well, having received and read my (final) copy of HârnMaster Gold Bestiary and having thoroughly enjoyed watching The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (what a HUGE movie!), I have to say that 2004 has started off on a positive note for me. :-)

Let's hope the rest of the year is filled with peace, prosperity, good health and great Hârn gaming!
